Dr Mark Abani brings his vast knowledge and experience gained over 30 years in Agriculture, Taxation, Trade and Leadership across academia, government, the private sector and Not for Profit organisations to positively contribute to a better world.
He is a renowned expert on Internally Generated Revenue, Trade and Agriculture for the World Bank, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and EU among others. An outstanding leader, he was the Managing Director and Country Director (Nigeria) for Crown Agents and subsequently a Non-Executive Director/Consultant. On trade matters he has been Senior Project Facilitator (Customs) on the Nigeria Expanded Trade and Transport (NEXTT) programme funded by USAID and contributed to several EU/Nigeria events and seminars on the EU-West Africa Economic Partnership Agreement. He has also been a private sector consultant to the Nigeria Presidential Task Force on Trade Facilitation and various Ad Hoc programmes of ECOWAS among others. He consulted for Crown Agents on Customs related work. He has been a Board Member, Federal Inland Revenue Service of Nigeria (FIRS).
A First Class Honours graduate of the University of Nigeria, Mark has numerous publications and workshop papers on agriculture, taxation, trade and leadership and is a member and Fellow of several professional bodies. He is married to Nnenna with adult children.
