Africa International Trade & Commerce Research (AITCR), in partnership with the Africa Centre for International Trade and Development (ACINTaD, Ghana) and AFRIK’ACT Research and Consulting (Togo), is inviting applications for Enumerators.
This role forms part of the Making Trade Work for Women (MTWW) in West Africa project, funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and administered by TradeMark Africa (TMA). AITCR is the lead implementing partner, working alongside ACINTaD and AFRIK’ACT across Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo. The project supports women traders, MSMEs, and cooperatives in participating more fully in regional and cross-border trade, work that sits alongside the broader inclusive-trade goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
About the role
AITCR is recruiting Enumerators to support a cross-border trade data collection exercise along the Tema–Ouagadougou and Lagos–Abidjan trade corridors. The role involves administering survey questionnaires using approved digital tools, collecting accurate, high-quality data from women cross-border traders, and adhering to established research ethics, safeguarding principles, and data protection standards.
Who we are looking for
- Prior experience working as an enumerator
- Proficiency with data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox, KoboCollect, SurveyCTO, ODK, or Google Forms
- Experience working along the West Africa trade corridors (Lagos–Abidjan; Tema–Ouagadougou)
- Strong interviewing skills and the ability to engage respondents across different literacy levels
- Sound judgement in maintaining data quality during fieldwork
- Two professional referees
- Fluency in both English and French (Advantage)
- Trade Corridor local language (Advantage)
