This global event takes place every June 27th to celebrate the contributions of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to economic growth, job creation, poverty reduction, and innovation. MSMEs are the backbone of Africa’s and the Global South’s economy, representing diverse manufacturing, services, agriculture, and technology businesses.
MSMEs drive entrepreneurship, innovation, and inclusive economic growth, which include empowering women, youth, and communities by creating employment opportunities, generating income, and enhancing social mobility. By raising awareness about MSMEs, this special day helps promote sustainable development and create a supportive environment for their growth and success.
